Chopper Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known Southern California Beach
An aircraft flying over a crowded southern California beach unexpectedly began spiraling out of control, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a row of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Videos shared on social media capture the helicopter beginning to twirl near Huntington Beach then falling near the edge of the beach, where it becomes wedged among palms and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
Emergency Response Details
Emergency responders stated five persons were transported to a medical facility involving a pair who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the accident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were injured. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
