Mario's Galactic Adventure Trailer Is Here, Revealing Rosalina and Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo and Illumination unveiled the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie midweek. The reveal happened in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that centered on the upcoming animated film.
The follow-up to the 2023 blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will send Mario to the outer limits of the universe. In his journey, he meets a different royal figure and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the offspring of the Koopa King.
A Space-Faring Quest Inspired by Classic Games
In the vein of the games from the Wii period that act as its source material, Mario will venture away from the familiar comforts of the Mushroom Kingdom to explore outer space. Throughout his extensive trek, he will reunite with some recognizable characters, such as the Luma, a popular character from the previous film.
Yet it looks like Mario and his brother Luigi will face a fresh enemy in the form of Bowser's furious offspring, who seemingly commands metallic abilities. Interestingly, the trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not only concentrated on visuals from the Galaxy games; it also features references to other beloved games like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
Star-Studded Voice Cast Returns and Expands
The film will feature once again of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will voice Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to play Bowser Jr. It was announced by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
A Significant Period for Mario
Mario's latest cinematic adventure is set to release close to the four-decade milestone of the original Super Mario Bros. game. Apart from the cinematic release, 2026 is shaping up to be a major period for Mario and his allies.
The company has three new games publicly declared for that year, including Mario Tennis Fever, a version for Switch 2 of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and a fresh Yoshi side-scroller titled Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.
Premiere Date Announced
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is planned for launch on April 3, 2026.
